Too many times we wake up in the morningand we're ungrateful for that day we're awake, we're blessed The world is full of negativity we don't have to be negative on ourselves.

I hate when people talk about I am unlucky. I am unsuccessful, I am fat, I am ugly No, you are not, let's change our I am it's gonna fuel our day, it’s gonna fuel our life I am successful, I am powerful, I am great, I am amazing That's the words that have to follow our I am It's going to fuel your life let's start taking it with passion Let's start being amazing. Use your I am to change the world if your actions are not in line with your beliefs Stop lying to yourself. 

There is nobody in this world that can go out there and be great for you.

You got to make a conscious decision to stop making excuses

Strap up your heart, stick out your chest and get it done.

There's nobody in this world, that's going to give you what you want

You're gonna have to go out there and get what you want by working hard.

Being talented is not good enough

you gotta work hard

you gotta be passionate

and you gotta, gotta be grateful

I failed over and over and over again

and I've risen to success because of my mindset.

Your mindset can be controlled

your attitude can be controlled by you, nobody else

if you let them, then you're allowing them to own something that belongs to you

that is your property.

When you get up in the morning

don't look at your phone

don't check your emails

don't think about yesterday's problems, yesterday struggles

and what obstacles you got today.

Focus, focus on the things that you have and not the things that you want

focus on the people that love you and not the people that hate you

focus on what and who you want to be and become

be blessed, be grateful and say thank you.

When you wake up every single morning, I want you to wake up with a smile on your face

doesn't matter how bad yesterday was

doesn't matter what you got going on today

and start telling yourself what you want to be

I'm gonna tell you something that one of my mentors Jim Rohn told me

If you want change in your life

you are going to have to change

you're gonna have to do something different

you're not gonna be able to get up

and be doing the same thing over and over again

and expect something different to happen

something different to change.

if you keep doing that you are insane

that is the definition of insanity.

Don't be a volunteer victim.

A lot of our problems in life

is self-inflicted wounds

A lot of times as we get older

we tend to conform

and we stop growing, we stop building as people inside.

No one wants to set goals, nobody wants to keep them.

We'd rather do what's easy in life

instead of getting a little bit uncomfortable

and growing

When you're uncomfortable is when you start to grow

when you're uncomfortable

is when you start to build muscles in your mind, in your body, in your soul.

Gratitude is the only, only shortcut to success.

Be grateful for what's around you

Don't take it for granted

Get up every single morning and do something that you love

For half an hour, for 10 minutes, for five minutes, for an hour

start small

I'm gonna repeat that, success is little steps of progress

if you're moving forward, if you're moving towards your goals

towards your greatness, then you are progressing.

Don't wait till the weekend, do it now

whatever it is

you have to believe

stop putting limitations on yourself

stop doubting yourself

stop letting other negative naysayers

Pull you into their circle of disaster, misery loves company

that's a fact

We have to rethink what motivates us

What pushes us

What is our why?

Why do you do what you do, how you do it?

I want to inspire you to become the best you that you can be.

Everybody else is taken, you can do the easy things in life.

If you do those easy things, life is gonna be hard, I promise you

But if you go about it, and do those hard things

those things that nobody wanna do

those things “oh, man I gotta get up and do that today, alright”

then life will be easy, it's a choice that you have to make whenever you're ready.

Write down exactly what you want to achieve

and then every single day as many times as possible

read it to yourself.

If you want to make a million dollars a year, write down on that piece of paper

I make a million dollars a year

I am healthy

I am happy

I have the love of my life.

Write it down and repeat it every single day.

You wanna be great, you wanna be special

you wanna be wealthy, you wanna be a billionaire

you wanna be the best basketball player, you wanna be the best football player

you wanna be the best soccer player

you wanna be the best surgeon, the best doctor, the best father

whatever your best is going to be

whatever the best that you want it to be

you gotta get up and you gotta change

You gotta do something that you never thought you'd do

You gotta do something that, that people don't expect you to do

you gotta go ahead and rewrite your own history

Stop waiting for somebody to come in there, swoop you off your feet

make your life perfect, make your life great

My ten-year-old son

literally brought me to tears

Two days ago, I believe- I think it was two days ago

I'm cleaning up his room picking up some of his stuff

and I see these index cards and I was like aw man that's so crazy

I was looking for some index cards

So I go to take the index cards to write my goals

to put them into the universe, to state them down on an index card

and it says do not touch and I'm like, what the heck

so I flipped it over

I started to read what my son wrote and it brought me to tears.

This child is ten years old he wrote a speech that he's gonna give

when he goes into the NFL Draft

and he doesn't know exactly what team he's gonna get drafted by yet

But he thanked me, he thanked his high school coach, he thanked his JV coach

he thanked, he thanked coaches he doesn't even have yet.

Guys he didn't stop there,
he wrote his Hall of Fame speech

when he gets inducted into the National Football Hall of Fame.

what does he have that you don't?

what does he have that I don't?

what does he have that most people don't?

He has full faith and belief in himself And that is what motivated me

that is what got me excited that's what gets me up every single morning is my why.

So every morning when you wake up I'm gonna challenge you right here, right now

I'm gonna challenge you to think something that makes you smile

just- just smile, early in the morning

be thankful, say it out loud

say three things that you're grateful for in your life.

Smile and then you're gonna set up the rest of your morning

the rest of your afternoon and your day for success.

then step up and go get it.

Germany has certainly been in the news in recent years. From the bundling politics of Angela Merkel to the famed beer festival in Munich, known as the Oktoberfest, Germany has repeatedly been in the spotlight, and, far and away, the country most requested

So now, by popular demand, we bring you the top 10 things you didn't know about Germany.

Germany is the largest economy in Europe. It has the fourth largest nominal GDP in the world. It might seem exaggerated to say, but everything that has to do with the European Union and Euro is highly dependent on Germany.

In fact, without Germany's economic participation and continued support the Eurozone would be a thing of the past. Germany's support has allowed for the continual participation of substantially weaker economies, such as Spain, Italy, and Greece, and has kept their economies afloat in the midst of horrible debt and economic mismanagement. So theoretically, if Germany cut the purse strings, it could send all of southern Europe into a downward spiral, but that's probably not going to happen. And here is why.

Germany is a country haunted by its past and the possibility of being portrayed in a negative light is something that Germans just can't afford. You see, if Germany left the EU and cut off southern Europe, you can only imagine the names it would be called, and that's putting it mildly. Because of this, Germany will be stuck between a rock and a hard place for a long time to come.

Unfortunately, it hasn't been all beer and glory as Germany has a pretty checkered past. If you've never been to Germany before, you probably have never heard of the stolperstein, or literally a stumbling stone.

Conceived in the eary 1990s, by the German artist Gunter Demnig, the stolperstein is a tile, usually made of bronze, commemorating the victims of the National Socialist regime in Germany. Their names and place of residence are etched into the tile, as is the approximate date of death and sometimes time of deportation to the concentration camps of the Nazis. By now, stolpersteine have spread across Europe to countries outside of Germany, marking the popularity of the idea behind them.

According to the Cambridge historian Joseph Pearson, it is not the information on the tiles that gives passer-bys pause, but the lack thereof. "It is not what is written on them which intrigues, "because the inscription is insufficient "to conjure a person. It is the emptiness, void, lack of information, "the maw of the forgotten, "which gives the monuments their power "lifts them from the banality of a statistic."

As a part of Germany's unfortunate past there're some things you literally just cannot say in Germany. That is, if you don't want to go to jail, called Volksverhetzung in German, or incitement to hatred, saying certain things about certain groups of people, or denying the Holocaust and the legacy of National Socialism can actually land you in jail. Some of the statute reads as follows:

"Whosoever publicly or in a meeting approves of,

"denies or downplays an act committed

"under the rule of National Socialism

"in manner capable of disturbing the public peace

"shall be liable to imprisonment

"not exceeding five years or a fine."

Such legal measures have been debated back and forth on their merits by freedom of speech scholars for several decades now. But the German government seems intent on upholding the measures for the foreseeable future.

From dark pumpernickel to light rye to everything inbetween in over 300 types of bread, Germany has more bread variety than any other country in the world. Bread forms a major part of just about every German meal and with over 300 types it's not hard to see why. In fact, one German word for dinner, Abendbrot, literally means evening bread and indicates the importance of one's daily bread in Germany.

Another popular sort of bread, rarely seen outside of Germany, is the Broetchen, which literally means little bread. Which, in fact, is lesser type of bread, there is a particular size and shape of bread.

Broetchen are typically small and can be held in one hand, as opposed to full loaves of bread,

and are possibly the most popular type of food in Germany. While most people think of beer when they think of Germany, they're really missing out on all that bread.

Unlike the United States where piss water, otherwise known as Coors Light and Budweiser, counts as beer, Germany is rightly regarded as the fatherland of beer. Going as far back as Roman times, when Germanic tribes were cited by Roman historians for their beer brewing skills, the tradition has continued throughout the Middle Ages to the present, giving us a tremendous variety of trully unique beer.

As a testament to German dedication to a pure and tasteful beer, in the Middle Ages there was legislation introduced called the Reinheitsgebot, 

 or purity decree, proclaiming that only the purest of ingredients, namely water, barley and hops, could go into beer.

Today, there're dozens and dozens of beers in Germany, many of them regional, such as the Cologne-based Koelsch, which is actually illegal to brew outside of the Cologne region. But rest assured, every type of German beer bears the stamp of umparalleled German quality.

Germany was the birthplace of one of the greatest and most long-standing religious and political onflictsin the world.

Martin Luther, theologian and religious radical, infamously posted his 95 Theses on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences on the door of a church in Wittenberg, as a critique of the Catholic Church's corruption, and shortly thereafter Europe exploded in conflict.

This action on the part of Martin Luther is widely regarded as the beginning of the splintering and fracturing of Christianity in Europe as protestantism was born.

This led to centuries of political and religious conflict accompanied by mass bloodshed and loss of human life in such conflicts as the Thirty Years' War, which is widely regarded as one of the most destructive conflicts in European history, and the infamous St. Bartholomew's Day massacre in France where Catholics engaged in mass murder of thousands of French protestant calvinists, known as Huguenots. Without the German theologian Martin Luther modern Europe as we know it today and indeed Christianity would be very, very different.

You may not know it, but Germany is a comparatively young country. Prior to the 19th century and throughout the Middle Ages much of what was modern Germany had simply been known as the Holy Roman Empire. But in the 19th century, under the visionary authority of the Prussian statesmen Otto von Bismarck, the modern concept of the nation-state of Germany was born.

Germany is often referred to as the Bundesrepublik, and this is because modern Germany is composed of 16 federal states, which all differ from each other often in subtle ways. They are: Buden- uerttemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Thuringia, North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Bremen, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony, Brandenburg, Berlin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and finally, Schleswig-Holstein.

The modern German consolation of 16 federated states is relatively new in German history. But each one retains a fiercely independent character dating back to before the time of German unification. For example, the state of Bavaria refers to itself as Freistaat Bayern, which means the free state of Bavaria.

The Bundeslander, as they are called in German, all have different customs, histories, foods, and even cultures, often going back many centuries, giving them each a unique flavour despite falling under the banner of greater Germany.

Just as modern Germany evolved from many separate states that were fused together under the iron fist of Otto von Bismarck, so too is modern standard German, called Hochdeutsch in German, an album of many different elements fused into one. The dialects of Germany are even older than the regions they seem to come from, harking back to the earliest Germanic tribes, mentioned by the Romans.

From that period onwards the Germanic tribesmen settled in many different places and their languages evolved on their own. Fast forward to the present and you have a country with literally hundreds of different dialects, some of which are so different from each other so as to be considered different languages. For example, the High German word for squirrel is Eichhoernchenschwanz, but in Bavarian it's Orchkatezlschworf. Even if you don't know German, you can certainly hear the difference. A Bavarian speaking his native dialect to a person from Hamburg will not be understood at all. So to communicate across the many states and indeed countries, such as Switzerland and Austria, German speak High German, a standardized German with a fixed grammar and set of rules, albeit each with their own regional accents.

For some four decades Germany was a divided land. There was West Germany and East Germany, also known as the DDR, or Deutsche Demokratische Republik. A legacy of the Cold War that ensued after World War II, it all ended when East Germany was united as one country with the West after the fall of the Berlin Wall on November, 9th, 1989.

There were great hopes at the time with many people long separated from each other reconnected, but many of these hopes have been dashed in the ensuing decades. Close to three decades after the fall of the wall, eastern Germany still lags behind its western counterpart economically by as much as one third.

Greater unemployment and fewer life opportunities have also given rise to a comparatively disproportionate number of so-called anti-establishment groups, such as neo-Nazis, fascists, and the far-right, compared to western Germany.

It's sad to admit, but it just might be the case that eastern Germany may never catch up with western Germany, something that, given Germany's troubled history, might bring with it potentially dire political and social consequences not just for Germany, but for the world at large. The Amazing Story of Porsche: From WW2 to the 911

If you had to pick one car that captures the power, beauty and excitement people feel about sports cars, you would find no better candidate than the Porsche 911. What’s even more impressive is that this has been true for over 50 years. That’s why today, we’ll be exploring the history of one of Germany’s most renowned car brands, Porsche.

Our story begins in 1875 in Maffersdorf, a small town in the Austrian Empire that is now part of the Czech Republic. That was the birthplace of Ferdinand Porsche, a quiet yet ambitious boy with a gift for engineering. As a teenager he would spend most of his days in his father’s repair shop, learning the ins and outs of vehicle mechanics, while attending university at night. His persistence landed him several engineering jobs at local companies.

And by the time he was 23 he had designed his first automobile, the Porsche P1. It was basically a carriage that ran on electric motors. It was supposed to break speed records, but the 2 tons of lead-acid batteries it had kinda slowed it down. Ferdinand would later improve it with a combustion engine, creating the first ever hybrid car, the Lohner-Porsche Mixte Hybrid. It could reach 37 mph and it broke the Austrian speed record as well as winning various races.

Porsche was eventually drafted into the army, where he served as a chauffeur for none other than Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Luckily, he was back to designing cars long before that other chauffeur got the Archduke and his wife killed, kicking off the First World War.

In the early 1920s Porsche moved to Stuttgart, where he was hired by Daimler as technical director. There he designed the Mercedes-Benz SSK, arguably the greatest race car of its era, with an unbeatable top speed of 120 mph.

By 1931 Porsche had saved up enough money to start a business of his own.

He was already one of the most famous engineers in Germany, yet despite that his business didn’t take off. You see, the German economy was still in shambles in 1933 and very few people could afford cars.

This is where Hitler came in.

He had become the Chancellor of Germany on January 30 of that year and just a few days later at the Berlin Auto Show, he announced the beginning of a new era for automobiles. He wanted every German citizen to have a car that could fit a family of five, start in the cold and be very fuel efficient. Essentially, what he wanted was а people’s car; a Volkswagen, if you will. Of course, the project was extremely ambitious, which is why Hitler recruited the best engineers he had, including Ferdinand Porsche.

He began working on what would eventually become the Beetle in 1934, later becoming a member of the Nazi Party and even the SS. In 1938 Hitler unveiled a state-owned factory for Porsche’s car, which would be built by the newly-established Volkswagen Company.

During World War 2, Porsche was recruited for military projects like the Elefant heavy tank destroyer. Because of that, and his SS membership, Porsche was arrested and imprisoned for war crimes in 1945. He was released a few years later, but by that point his son, Ferry Porsche, had assumed control of the company.

He wanted to build cars with the Porsche name on them and thus in 1948, he created the Porsche 356. Its popularity didn’t really take off until it won the 1951 Le Mans race, after which it became Porsche’s flagship model. By 1965, when production finally ended, over 76,000 cars had been produced.

So, why stop production?

 

Well in 1963, another model started rolling off the factory floor, the Porsche 911. It was a rear-engine car that was air cooled, with two small back seats and a trunk that could fit little more than a golf bag.

Critics called it a better, more civilized 356, and they were right: the 911 became a hit sensation that built upon its predecessor’s success. It became Porsche’s best-seller despite its price tag of $6,000, which was more than most people’s annual salary at the time.

By the 1970s, Porsche were selling over 20,000 911s every year, and if you count all of its variations, the model is arguably the most successful competition car in history. Over the years it has won nearly everything: the Monte Carlo rally, the Paris-Dakar, the Targa Florio and numerous other rally and GT championships. It’s easy to see why: some estimates say that two thirds of all Porsches ever made are still on the road, which is part of the reason why the Porsche brand has endured for so long.

Their brand has been built on sports cars, which is why people lost their minds when Porsche decided to make an SUV in 2002. The Cayenne was a huge departure from anything they’d ever done before; in fact, it was Porsche’s first car with four doors. Fans of the brand were shocked and thought it would devalue Porsche’s image, but actually the opposite happened. The car was an excellent performer, and quickly rose to prominence. Today, the Cayenne and Porsche’s new SUV, the Macan, make up over 70% of the company’s sales in America.

Ownership

But let’s talk about the company’s ownership.

You probably know that Porsche is owned by Volkswagen, but it’s actually way more complicated.

So complicated, that we’ll be making a separated article just for that story.

But here’s the short version: In the decades after World War 2, Volkswagen became very successful, vastly overshadowing Porsche and selling 60 times as many cars. One day in 2005, however, these two Porsche executives decided for some reason that they wanted to acquire Volkswagen. Of course, Volkswagen was way bigger than Porsche could possibly afford, but they figured out an ingenious and barely legal way around that. Their first move was to buy call options on Volkswagen stock. Now if you’re not familiar with how call options work, they basically earn money as the stock’s price increases.

 

So, once the executives had enough options, they started buying the stock itself, lifting its price, earning money from the options, and using that money to buy even more stock. They continued their scheme for three years and by October 2008 Porsche controlled 74.1% of Volkswagen.

Now, by German law in order to access Volkswagen’s billions of cash reserves, Porsche needed to own 75%. But Porsche had ran out of cash long ago and had purchased thousands of shares by borrowing money. By that point the stock manipulation was so bad that Volkswagen stock had quadrupled in price, making it briefly the largest company in the world.

Then, the Great Recession happened.

All of the banks demanded their money back, but Porsche were basically broke and quickly declared bankruptcy. The two executives, however, had prepared for that. In 2007 they had created a holding company for Porsche, which owned 100% of the manufacturing business, but added an extra layer of legal security. This kept the manufacturing business alive, but ironically, when the Porsche holding company went bankrupt, it was Volkswagen who rescued them. Volkswagen purchased the entirety of the Porsche manufacturing company, which gave the Porsche holding company enough money to pay back its debts and keep a 30.8% stake in Volkswagen.

The best part, however, is that the two executives responsible for the fiasco ended up walking scot-free and with millions in severance money. Now, if barely legal market manipulation and other corporate wizardry sounds like something you may be interested in.
